Saskatoon Food Bank’s Garden Patch

The Garden Patch is a 1.5-acre urban farm in Saskatoon. Since 2010, the SFBLC has grown almost 200,000 lbs. of food for Emergency Food Hampers, but the impact of the program doesn’t stop there. Thousands of people have visited us, come for a tour, volunteered, attended workshops, and participated in our programs.

The Garden Patch's pre-visit and post-visit activities are developed with the intention to better support educators. Included are a host of activities and essential questions to spark wonder before a field trip to the Garden Patch, and resources to prompt students to tie up loose ends when consolidating their experience at the Garden Patch with their topic of study. Can't make a trip to the Garden Patch? These resources are still for you! Not only do they offer ideas on how to connect the curriculum with topics surrounding food security, but we also provide activities that are stand-alone for your benefit.
